Scotty’s Appoints New Head of Finance
Charity Finance Expert to Join Scotty's Little Soldiers as Head of Finance
Experienced charity finance leader Graham Jones, who has a proven track record of enhancing finance functions and managing complex partnerships, will join Scotty's as Head of Finance in May. Formerly Executive Director: Finance and Commercial at Kidney Research UK, Graham will play a key role in driving the charity’s next phase of growth and impact as part of the Senior Leadership Team.
A chartered accountant with a diverse career spanning the public sector, logistics, education, and charitable organisations, Graham has a proven track record of enhancing finance functions to drive efficiency and maximise resources for charitable purposes. Most recently, at Kidney Research UK, he led collaborative finance initiatives and strengthened business support functions to increase the organisation's impact.
Commenting on his new role, Graham said: "Scotty's is doing some amazing work transforming the lives of young people, and I am really excited to be part of the journey and vision. I’m passionate about ensuring that every penny is working as hard as possible to support the people who need it most. At Scotty’s, that means making sure our finance function enables the team to deliver even greater support to bereaved military children and young people. I’m looking forward to helping the charity maximise its resources and continue making a real difference."
Stuart Robinson, CEO of Scotty's Little Soldiers, welcomed Graham to the team, adding: "We’re really excited to have Graham joining Scotty’s. He brings with him a wealth of charity finance experience and is the perfect addition to the team to help Scotty’s with the next phase of its growth."
Scotty's provides vital support to children and young people aged 0-25 who have experienced the death of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces. Through emotional support, development opportunities, and fun activities, the charity helps bereaved military children feel part of a supportive community while recognising their unique needs.
With Graham’s appointment, the charity is further strengthening its infrastructure to continue delivering impactful services and expanding its reach to support more bereaved military children.
So far this year, Scotty’s has supported over 730 children and young people. Scotty’s estimates that each year 2,100 children are newly bereaved of a parent who served in the British Armed Forces*. The charity wants to support these children and has a long-term goal of supporting over 1,000 young people annually by 2030.
