This September, 19-year-old Phoebe Thomas will be one of 10 Scotty’s Little Soldiers’ Council Members taking on Scotty’s March in memory of her military parent. Phoebe’s dad, AB1 James Thompson, served as a mechanical engineer in the Navy as a diver. He died from skin cancer in 2014 when she was 10 years old.

Samuel is marching “to help more young people" like him

20-year-old Samuel Ruddlesdin will join Scotty’s March this September to march in memory of his stepfather, SAC Richard Hannis who served as an armourer in the RAF. He was killed in a motorbike crash on his way to work in 2009 when Samuel was 6 years old. Samuel, Scotty’s Council Member, will march alongside 10 other council members as they represent and raise funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers, the charity for bereaved military children and young people.

Bethan is marching to “give back to Scotty's”

This September, 21-year-old Bethan Coomber will be marching in memory of her father at the inaugural Scotty’s March, to raise funds for the charity that has supported her since his death. The Scotty’s Council Member will be marching to honour Warrant Officer Class 2 David Coomber who served in the Royal Corps of Signals in the British Army until his death due to illness in 2011.

Scotty’s Council Member Will marches in memory of Dad

21-year-old Will Godwin is one of 10 Scotty’s Little Soldiers’ Council Members who are taking on Scotty’s March in memory of their military parent while raising funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers. Will’s father, Flt Lt David Godwin, served for 37 years in the RAF completing tours in Afghanistan, America and Europe. He died by suicide in 2017 when Will was 15.

15-year-old Ben O’Donnell is one of 10 Scotty’s Little Soldiers’ Council Members who are taking on Scotty’s March in memory of their military parent while raising funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers. He will be marching to honour his father, Warrant Officer Class 2 Gary O'Donnell, who served in the Army and completed tours in Afghanistan, Iraq, Sierra Lione and Northern Ireland. He died in 2008 in Helmand Province while trying to disarm an IED when Ben was just nine weeks old.

13-year-old Emily is the youngest of 10 Scotty’s Little Soldiers’ Council Members who are taking on Scotty’s March in memory of their military parent while raising funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers. Emily’s dad was Sergeant Antony Reynolds and served in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME). He served in the Army for 21 years completing multiple tours in Afghanistan, and others in Bosnia, Kosovo and Northern Ireland. He died by suicide in 2018 when Emily was aged 7.

21-year-old Alex Thomas is one of 10 Scotty’s Little Soldiers’ Council Members who are taking on Scotty’s March in memory of their military parent while raising funds for Scotty’s Little Soldiers. Alex’s dad, Major David Michael Thomas, served in the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers and did two tours in Bosnia and Herzegovina before becoming ill with cancer. Brooke will march in memory of her hero, Corporal Lee Scott

14-year-old Brooke Scott is one of the youngest Scotty Council Members who will be marching this September in memory of her military parent. Brooke will be marching in honour of her dad, Corporal Lee Scott, who served in the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment until he was hit by an IED in Afghanistan in 2009. Brooke was 7 months old at the time.
